Tournament Formats

Overview

GRAN ONLINE Platform offers several match types and game formats for tournament organizers and participants. This guide will help you understand the available options.

Match Type

Match type refers to how participants can enter a tournament. There are 3 options available when creating a tournament:

  • Singles - All participants enter as individual players. Matches are 1 vs 1.

  • Doubles - All participants enter as pairs or teams. Matches are 2 vs 2 (either local doubles or remote doubles).

  • Singles/Doubles - Participants can enter as individuals or pairs. Matches can be 1 vs 1, 1 vs 2, or 2 vs 2, depending on the tournament bracket and progress.

Tournament Format

  • Single Elimination - Players compete in a single bracket. Once a player loses a match, they are eliminated from the tournament.

  • Double Elimination - Players who lose a match move to the loser's bracket and have a second chance to continue in the tournament.

Include a Match for 3rd Place

When this option is enabled, the losing semi-finalists from the winner's bracket and loser's bracket will compete in one additional match to determine 3rd place.

Qualification

Organizers can set rank limitations for their tournament. Players whose rank does not fall within the specified range will be unable to enter the tournament.

Organizers can choose the number of legs per match:

  • 1 LEG

  • 3 LEGS
